Hello!, Today we will be looking at this weeks assignment, where I had to do a four page comic, based on a short fairy tale with a morale. Our teacher this week has been Paul Karasik, and he asked us to present the work in an interesting way, which is the cause of the extra graphics, today.
As I already had the story, I went on to the character designs as the first part of the creation of the story. Having mainly aninals int he story, I also did a load of research as I'm not that skilled with drawing animals really... And after that I went on to doing some thumbmails, putting the layout down for the first pages.
As you can see my mind easily wanders off, and I always start to doodle unrelated things when sketching the layout of the pages.
Haha... Anyway... After having the layout down,
I sketched down the first version of the four pages. trying to visually point out the morale of the story by having human versions of the hare and the tortoise in the start and the end of the comic.
Wait, are those two lovers?
What? why would they be t-
Is that turtle humping that weird sauce pan?
.......
SO... after some useful criticism, I edited the pages and removed the humanized versions of the hare and rabbit, making it easier to understand and read. |
Much better, now those two can't be confused for something else, and it doesn't look like the tortoise is doing inappropriate things to the trophy.
Ready to put some ink on... Not today probably, though.
Oh well. Here you have the most of the progress.
Have a nice day!
