Hello!, Today we will be looking at this weeks assignment, where I had to do a four page comic, based on a short fairy tale with a morale. Our teacher this week has been Paul Karasik, and he asked us to present the work in an interesting way, which is the cause of the extra graphics, today.

As I already had the story, I went on to the character designs as the first part of the creation of the story. Having mainly aninals int he story, I also did a load of research as I'm not that skilled with drawing animals really... And after that I went on to doing some thumbmails, putting the layout down for the first pages.

As you can see my mind easily wanders off, and I always start to doodle unrelated things when sketching the layout of the pages.
Haha... Anyway... After having the layout down,

I sketched down the first version of the four pages. trying to visually point out the morale of the story by having human versions of the hare and the tortoise in the start and the end of the comic.

Wait, are those two lovers?

What? why would they be t-
Is that turtle humping that weird sauce pan?
.......

SO... after some useful criticism, I edited the pages and removed the humanized versions of the hare and rabbit, making it easier to understand and read.

Much better, now those two can't be confused for something else, and it doesn't look like the tortoise is doing inappropriate things to the trophy.
Ready to put some ink on... Not today probably, though.
Oh well. Here you have the most of the progress.
Have a nice day!

Tecnology vs Magic
The first finished assignment for this week, having the theme being Magic versus Technology. Even if there's obvious mistakes, I'm rather proud of at least the workprogress, though my right wrist still hurts from drawing this too intensly.

The two last weeks, I have been working on a webcomic/ social media project, which resulted in This
The two weeks passed by way too quickly, but it was fun and I even managed to create a facebook page for once, and I may keep on drawing on the webcomic, if it gets populair enough within the next two months.

all of my class mates also did some pretty awesome comics though, and theres a long list to them Here, though it's in danish, I'm afraid.

With an ugly ass link to my random doodle tumblr, as I forgot to save any other version of this one, than the one I posted there. Remember to save all your work, kids. And in a manner so you can find it again when you need it.

Prioritare A

So last week I finished the second student comic, an 8-page short story based on another classmates environment. The assigned environment I got was "A dream version of a mail office" and my story is about Gabby, a new employee at this dreamland office, that finds a curious little thing, instead of listening to instructions at her very first day on the job. I'm usually a digital artist, but lined this one in hand, using a dip pen for the first time in my life. It was quite something new to try, and even with all those time I stabbed myself with the pen, and the leftovers of ink I still haven't gotten off my nails completely, I think I have grown to prefer dip pen as my traditional media.

First finished comic

In the second week with Paul Karasik, our first big assignment was to do a finished 12-page comic in black and white. The different stories of ours had to be something in our lives that had actually happened. A biographical piece of shortstory so to say. And with this task a lot of the students here in GS ended up dealing with a lot of personal and tough stories, not making the task easy in any way.

I apologize for possible spelling or gramma mistakes, as there might be less edits on these pages than the actual printed version. But it should give you a pretty good idea of what my assignment ended up looking like. Just by working on this, I learned a lot too, and I have realized that I should work hard on my hand lettering.
I should also work on how to show off my work in this blog. Maybe code a slideshow or something like that. Who knows.
